Born: December 5, 1901, 12:35 AM local time, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Source: Astro-Databank, Rodden rating A.

The A rating means the birth time is considered reliable, usually from a quoted memory or biographical record rather than a birth certificate itself, one step below the top AA grade. The rising sign, the Midheaven and the houses below can still be read normally. Open Walt Disney's chart on Astrolas to follow the wheel while you read.

Two clusters run this chart. Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn all sit in vCapricorn, and three of those four, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, land together in the 4th house, the part of the chart the library ties to home, family and foundation. A second cluster sits in the 3rd house, the house of communication: the Sun, Mercury and Uranus. Home and communication turn out to be most of the story.

Mars, Jupiter and Saturn in Capricorn, house 4

In order: Mars at 8ยฐ27', Saturn at 14ยฐ41' and Jupiter at 15ยฐ23', all in Capricorn and all in the 4th house.

The library reads Capricorn as the sign where Saturn, its ruler, is at full strength: ambition, discipline and a persistent will that does not shy away from difficulty. Applied to Mars, that becomes restrained energy erupting only when necessary, with a drive toward status built through hard, practical work. Applied to Jupiter, it becomes a cautious ambition that builds success step by step, often through property or large-scale construction. Applied to Saturn itself, it becomes leadership and a tendency to carry responsibility alone.

In the 4th house, all three read as a drive to build something permanent at the root of life. The library's Mars here wants to own and shape a home with its own hands. Its Jupiter finds safety through a secure, spacious home and often meets good fortune tied to property. Its Saturn treats a stable home as the top priority and often finds lasting success in real estate.

Two of the three are in tight conjunction: Jupiter and Saturn, orb 0ยฐ43'. The library reads that pairing as idealism running into real obstacles, with hard work and persistence as the only way through, and success in money and career arriving slowly but lasting. Disney's early career fits that shape closely. In 1928 he lost the rights to an early cartoon character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, in a contract dispute, and answered by creating Mickey Mouse soon after.

Mars also conjoins both: Mars with Saturn, orb 6ยฐ13', reads as rare discipline and endurance with a risk of self-doubt when obstacles hit, best worked off through physical effort. Mars with Jupiter, orb 6ยฐ56', reads as bold, well-timed action and a taste for risk, with a caution against haste. Much of the industry doubted a cartoon could hold an audience for a full feature length; Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, released in 1937, became Disney's first feature film and a massive success. Disney died in 1966; Walt Disney World, in Florida, opened five years later, built on the same idea of a permanent, family home.

The Sun, Mercury and Uranus in house 3

The Sun sits at 12ยฐ27' lSagittarius, Mercury at 27ยฐ26' Scorpio and Uranus at 16ยฐ50' Sagittarius, all in the 3rd house, the house the library ties to communication, writing and short trips.

The Sagittarius Sun is optimistic, restless and drawn to broad ideas over small details, suited to work built on communication and vision. In the 3rd house, the library describes a quick mind that takes pride in its intellect, learns fast, and wants to be recognized through its ideas, with real talent for speaking and writing that can inspire a whole community.

Mercury in Scorpio digs past the surface toward what is actually going on, suited to work that rewards patience. In the 3rd house, the library reads it as a fluent, persuasive communicator, quick to process information and stay closely connected to the world around him, with a caution against letting restlessness turn into needless friction.

Uranus in Sagittarius is a generational placement, shared by people born in the same few years, tied by the library to advances in education and new travel technology. The 3rd house makes it personal: an inventive mind, often ahead of its time, that prefers to test ideas quietly before showing them, with short trips and new technology as sources of inspiration.

The Sun and Uranus are in conjunction, orb 4ยฐ23'. The library reads this as independent, original and hard to predict, capable of both genius and rebellion, someone who looks unpredictable from outside but actually weighs decisions carefully and waits for the right moment to act. Disney treated animation as an engineering problem to keep solving: he introduced synchronized sound to cartoons with Steamboat Willie in 1928 and kept pushing the format with new color and camera techniques through the 1930s.

Moon in Libra, house 1

The Moon sits at 9ยฐ10' jLibra, in the 1st house.

The library's Libra Moon is drawn to charm, harmony and refined beauty, uncomfortable with rudeness or discord, and happiest in a peaceful, aesthetically pleasing environment. It tends to work best in partnership and often finds its success tied to important relationships with strong, capable people.

In the 1st house, the library reads this Moon as intuitive enough to sense who is sincere and who is not, close to public mood and shifting trends, and family-oriented, with a strong desire for children and lasting attachment. Disney ran his studio for decades with his older brother Roy, who handled the business side while Walt ran the creative one, and he and his wife, Lillian, raised two daughters.

Venus in Capricorn, house 5

Venus sits at 29ยฐ42' Capricorn, in the 5th house.

The library's Capricorn Venus is cautious in love, often read by others as cold or reserved, though that is really a shell protecting against giving the heart too soon. Underneath, it is sincere, loyal and willing to work hard for a partner's stability rather than offer flowery words. Financially, it favors saving and long-term security over spending for show.

The 5th house softens that reserve considerably. The library reads a 5th-house Venus as graceful and magnetic, often the center of attention in social settings, with real artistic talent and a gift for bringing laughter and warmth to children as well as adults.

Neptune retrograde in Cancer, house 10

Neptune, retrograde, sits at 0ยฐ34' fCancer, in the 10th house.

Neptune in Cancer is generational, tied by the library to a period when war and social upheaval forced whole societies to find new ways to protect home and family. What is personal is the house. The library reads a 10th-house Neptune as a pull toward a public role built on inspiration and emotional depth, expressed quietly rather than performed for credit, with a caution against idealizing the work to the point of disillusionment.

Disney said his own childhood on a farm in Marceline, Missouri, shaped the idealized small-town street he later built as the entrance to Disneyland, which opened in Anaheim in 1955. A 10th-house career built on nostalgia, family and an idealized version of home is close to a literal reading of Cancer, the sign of home, sitting in the house of public reputation.

Pluto retrograde in Gemini, house 9

Pluto, retrograde, sits at 17ยฐ47' dGemini, in the 9th house.

Pluto in Gemini is generational, and the library is specific about the window, 1884 to 1913: the rise of journalism, the telephone and radio, the first photographs and films, and the first airplanes and affordable cars. Disney was born squarely inside that stretch, into the generation that turned those new tools into mass entertainment.

The 9th house makes it personal in a different way. The library reads a retrograde 9th-house Pluto as a hunger for knowledge pursued inwardly, shaped more by questioning one's own beliefs than by outside pressure, with influence over others expressed through quiet, discreet guidance rather than open confrontation.

The Virgo Ascendant and the angles

The Ascendant sits at 25ยฐ39' Virgo, the Descendant at 25ยฐ39' Pisces, the Midheaven at 24ยฐ55' Gemini and the IC at 24ยฐ55' Sagittarius.

The Astrolas library does not yet have entries for a Virgo Ascendant or a Gemini Midheaven on their own, so this piece will not build a reading from them directly. A handful of aspects touch the angles without library text yet: Mercury sextile the Ascendant, orb 1ยฐ46', Venus trine the Ascendant, orb 4ยฐ03', and Neptune square the Ascendant, orb 4ยฐ55'. They are noted here only as wiring, without a reading attached.

What the chart adds up to

The chart does not explain how Walt Disney drew or how he ran a studio. What it shows is two clear concentrations: Capricorn piled into the 4th house, reading as ambition spent on building something permanent, and a 3rd-house cluster reading as a mind built to communicate and invent. Between the two sits a Libra Moon that needed the result to feel warm, familiar and shared, about as close as this chart comes to explaining Main Street, U.S.A.
