What "Sun-Moon contact" actually means
When astrologers say "Sun-Moon contact" in synastry, they mean one of these:
- Person A's Sun forms a major aspect to Person B's Moon (and vice versa)
- Or A's Sun is in the same sign / element as B's Moon
The five major aspects (conjunction, sextile, square, trine, opposition) are the loudest. But even without exact aspects, element resonance between A's Sun and B's Moon tells you whether the two people feel "seen" by each other.

Do not skip Moon-Moon
Sun-Moon contacts describe recognition. Moon-Moon contacts describe living together. Two Moons in the same element tend to need rest, comfort, and space in similar ways. When the birth time is missing
The Moon moves about 13 degrees a day, so it changes sign roughly every two and a half days. If a birth time is unknown and the Moon was near the start or end of a sign that day, the Moon sign itself may be uncertain. Check the Moon's position at 00:00 and 23:59 on the birth date. If both land in the same sign, you can still use this cheat sheet with confidence. If they don't, read both possibilities and see which one matches the person better.
